From the Pastor's Pen

Dear church family,
As we begin the new year, I want to encourage everyone in the church to “get connected.” To help you grow spiritually.
Get connected to a Sunday School class- This a smaller setting for you to engage in the study of God’s Word and will help you build some encouraging friendships. Our classes pray for each other and have periodic times of fellowship. We appreciate all the hard work of our faithful teachers.
Get connected to a church service- Each one of our services has a different feel to it because of attendance. Sunday morning is a time for worship and the preaching of God’s Word. Sunday evening is a little more casual and feels like family. Again there is a challenge from the Scripture. Our mid- week prayer and Bible study lives up to its name. Those not involved in ministry meet in the chapel for a devotional Bible study and a season of prayer for the ministries of our church and the needs of our church family.
Get connected to ministry- We do have a church full of servant hearted people but there is always room for more help in ministry. I encourage you to pray for an opportunity to serve in a ministry of our church.
Get connected to personal devotions- Of course you can and should grow spiritually even away from church. We provide Daily Bread devotional books and Bible reading plans at our Connection Center. Make private time with the Lord a priority this year.
I am praying that 2020 will be a unique year of God’s blessing at Southside Baptist Church.
